West Herr Buick has some great news for Buffalo Buick drivers looking to blend style and grace with precision in their new vehicle. The 2011 Buick Enclave delivers comfort for up to eight, plenty of space for cargo and at 24 mpg highway (2WD), better fuel economy than any eight-passenger SUV.
Fans of Buick will be thrilled to visit East Aurora Buick in the coming weeks to see the all-new 2011 Buick Enclave in person, which blends style and grace in a new luxury crossover form. Coupled with a better fuel economy than any other eight-passenger SUV, the Enclave is poised to change consumer perception about the Buick brand for 2011.
The 2011 Buick Enclave features a fuel-efficient 3.6L direct injected V-6 VVT engine that blends power, smoothness, efficiency and technical sophistication. An EPA-estimated 24 mpg highway for front-wheel drive models and 22 mpg highway for all-wheel-drive models is possible, thanks to the Enclave’s technology.
The 3.6L direct injection engine is designed to operate with regular unleaded gasoline – which saves money compared to luxury brands that require premium fuel – and produces power similar to many V-8 engines.
The Enclave’s transmission is designed to deliver both performance and fuel economy, enabling up to a 7-percent improvement in performance and up to a 4-percent improvement in fuel economy when compared to front-wheel-drive four-speed automatics. In addition, the Buick Enclave can tow up to 4,500 pounds (2,045 kg) when properly equipped.
Enclave’s fluid lines and curved surfaces create the illusion of a smaller vehicle, while maintaining a roomy interior. Other Buick design cues include a waterfall grille, V-shaped portholes and high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps. For enhanced illumination, especially while cornering, Enclave offers available articulating headlamps.
The 2011 Buick Enclave’s interior complements the handsome exterior with a warm and inviting environment. The premium attention to detail is reflected in the precise fit and finish of all interior elements, including the instrument panel. With three rows of seats, Enclave comfortably accommodates seven or eight occupants, and still provides 24.1 cu. ft. (682 L) of cargo space behind the third-row seat when the cargo management is removed. That’s the trunk capacity of some large sedans and room that many crossovers cannot match.
Premium cloth seats are standard on CX models; perforated and heated leather seats are standard on CXL models. The first row includes two bucket seats, while the second-row comes standard with two captain’s chairs. A second-row 60/40-split bench (three passengers) seat is available.
Enclave’s second-row seats feature GM’s Smart Slide system, a popular feature that allows easy entry to the third row with the pull of one handle. With Smart Slide, the second-row seat cushion flips up while the seatback slides forward, compressing the space occupied by the seat. When adjusted rearward, the second-row seat provides more legroom for taller passengers; when adjusted forward, it provides more storage space or additional legroom for third-row passengers.
The 2011 Enclave is the only crossover in its segment equipped with QuietTuning, Buick’s exclusive engineering process to reduce, block and absorb unwanted noise from entering Enclave’s cabin. Noise-reducing components include an acoustic-laminated windshield, laminated safety glass for front doors, triple door seals, flat-blade windshield wipers, and outside rearview mirrors. In addition, strategically placed sound-deadening material is applied in more than two dozen locations throughout the vehicle.
The 2011 Buick Enclave has a comprehensive safety system designed to protect passengers before, during and after a crash. The 2010 Enclave achieved the top federal frontal crash rating of five stars for driver and front-seat passenger, and the top federal side-impact crash test score of five stars for rear occupants.
Safety-enhancing features include four-wheel anti-lock brakes, StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with rollover mitigation technology and GM’s tire pressure monitoring system are standard.
Complementing the six standard air bags in the Enclave is GM’s rollover sensing system, which activates the roof rail air bags if sensors determine an impending rollover. Because rollover crashes typically last longer than non-rollover crashes, the roof rail air bags stay inflated longer to provide increased occupant protection and containment. Additionally, first-row positions feature safety belt pretensioners, which activate at the moment of a crash to take up any slack in the safety belt and hold the passengers in place.
Enclave also includes a Panic Brake Assist feature. When an emergency braking maneuver is detected, the system automatically develops additional brake pressure to more quickly engage ABS, potentially reducing overall stopping distance by eliminating the delay that can occur if a driver does not brake hard enough and/or soon enough
All Buicks, including Enclave, are equipped with segment-exclusive OnStar (including a six-month Directions and Connections plan), which features the Advanced Crash Response System. If a crash activates an air bag, the OnStar system automatically notifies an OnStar advisor, who immediately calls the vehicle and/or summons emergency help.
Buick Enclave is priced less than luxury competitors and is backed by the industry’s best warranty – a four-year, 50,000-mile, bumper-to-bumper warranty, as well as five-year, 100,000-mile powertrain coverage.
New York drivers also agree that the smart money is on the 2011 Buick Enclave, thanks to a starting price that beats luxury brands by thousands, even though it offers a host of standard equipment and the industry’s best warranty coverage. In fact, model year-to-date, Enclave sales are up more than 30 percent over the same period a year earlier, and are up 33 percent for the first quarter of 2010 over 2009.
For 2011, Buick Enclave is available in CX and CXL models with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Buick drivers wanting to learn more about the 2011 Buick Enclave in Buffalo are encouraged to stop by West Herr Buick or by calling 716-652-2600 today .

Good news for Buffalo Buick drivers from West Herr Buick: A fuel-efficient, direct injected Ecotec 2.4L four-cylinder engine is now the standard engine in the 2011 Buick LaCrosse CX luxury sedan.
As Buick continues its transformation, new products like the 2.4L-powered LaCrosse CX are helping New York drivers get a fuel-efficient option that’s simply not available from the competition.
Direct injection technology helps the Ecotec 2.4L deliver 182 horsepower (136 kW) and 172 lb-ft. of torque (233 Nm). The injection of fuel directly into the combustion chamber enables a higher compression ratio to increase efficiency and horsepower. That means more power is made with less fuel and lower emissions.
In fact, cold-start emissions are reduced by up to 25 percent with direct injection. Engineers tuned the engine to deliver greater torque at lower rpm and build it smoothly toward its peak at 4,900 rpm, giving the 2011 Buick LaCrosse excellent performance in all driving conditions.
The Ecotec 2.4L diversifies the LaCrosse’s powertrain lineup. For 2011, the current 3.0L V-6 will be discontinued and the Ecotec 2.4L and 3.6L V-6 with variable valve timing will be the two engines offered in the vehicle. AWD will be offered with 3.6L-equipped models starting in the 2011 model year.
Like the Ecotec 2.4L, the 3.6L V-6 features direct injection. Direct injection is a key component of using advanced propulsion technology to help deliver more fuel-efficient cars today and in the future to Buffalo. By using multiple technology pathways to achieve increased efficiency and to diversify energy sources, Buick can applying them where they make the most sense for New York drivers when it comes to efficiency, performance and cost.
The Ecotec 2.4L inside of the 2011 Buick LaCrosse is designed to deliver exceptional quietness with low maintenance requirements and minimal environmental impact – including 100,000-mile service life ratings for the spark plugs and accessory drive belt.
The 2011 Buick LaCrosse is also equipped with GM’s Oil Life system, which uses a sophisticated algorithm to determine when it’s time for an oil change. The system calculates the oil life based on a variety of closely monitored variables, such as engine speed, temperature, load and others, allowing fewer oil changes over the life of the vehicle for a significantly reduced amount of used oil that must be recycled.
Buick drivers are encouraged to visit West Herr Buick today to get behind the wheel of the 2011 Buick LaCrosse in Buffalo and experience the Ecotec 2.4L engine for themselves.

West Herr Buick Pontiac GMC Cadillac, the leading Buffalo Buick dealer, is proud to announce that safety is a top priority for Buick thanks to the creation of the world’s toughest terrain test.
It’s a technology that would captivate anyone who grew up on video games. What if you could create an exact digital replica of one of the world’s most challenging roads and then drive virtual cars on it to see what happens?? The inventors at Buick found a way to do just that.
A team of engineers that created an innovative road scanner that makes a micro-detailed 3D digital representation of some of the toughest real-world road surfaces. Then she drives equally detailed digital Buick vehicles on the digital roads to test for quality and reliability.
“Just like a photo scanner, we can scan the surface of a road to create a three-dimensional digital representation,” said Buick’s team.
The scanner works with cameras and a laser to determine a 3D model of a road surface down to 1mm of fidelity, according to the Buffalo Buick dealership.
An interesting application of this new technology involves a road leading to Mexico’s Cerro del Cubilete shrine. It’s a twisting, rocky path that winds its way up toward one of the most important religious shrines in Mexico. Each day, pilgrims from throughout Mexico are jostled and bumped as they traverse the stone road of Cubilete.
If ever there was a road that could bring out vehicle rattles, squeaks and vibrations, Cubilete is it.
“Customers who drive on that road complain about steering rack noise,” said the Buick team. “That’s why we wanted to recreate this road so that we can test and ensure that our vehicles are up to the challenge of driving on roads like this one.”
Buick submits new vehicles to rigorous virtual testing well before a physical prototype ever hits the streets of Buffalo NY. Testing on challenging roads like Cubilete allows Buick engineers to find and address issues early on in the development cycle.
“In the end, it leads to higher-quality, quieter and more comfortable Buick cars and crossovers,” said the Buick team.
Buick is a modern brand with premium, high-quality vehicles characterized by sculpted designs, luxurious interiors with personal technologies, and responsive-yet-efficient performance. Buick is attracting new customers in Buffalo with its portfolio of award-winning vehicles, including the Enclave crossover, LaCrosse sedan and Regal sport sedan. A new compact sedan and small crossover will join the portfolio in the next few years. Buick’s sales continue to increase in North America, and it remains a best-selling brand in China, with continuing record growth.
